Apple Nut Salad

4 Servings (1 1/4 cup/300 mL)
Steps
To prepare salad:
In a salad bowl, combine alpiste, spinach, apple, bartlet pear and walnut pieces.
Drizzle salad with ¼ cup (50 mL) dressing. Toss well to coat.
To prepare dressing:
In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar, apple juice, oil, sugar, onion powder and garlic.
Use half and refrigerate other half for another time.
Makes ½ cup (125 mL).

SALAD
1 cup (250 mL) alpiste, cooked and cooled
2 cups (500 mL) spinach leaves
1 apple, cubed
1 bartlet pear, cubed
1/2 cup (125 mL) walnut pieces
DRESSING
1/4 cup (50 mL) apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup (50 mL) apple juice
2 Tbsp (25 mL) canola oil
2 tsp (10 mL) granulated sugar
1/2 tsp (2 mL) onion powder
1/2 tsp (2 mL) garlic powder
